Bryant to serve as play-by-play voice of the Vermilion County Bobcats
DANVILLE, IL-- The Vermilion County Bobcats of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) have officially named Casey Bryant their Vice President of Broadcasting and Communications. Bryant will serve as play-by-play voice of the Bobcats in their inaugural season, as well as handle social media and media relations responsibilities.
“It’s extremely exciting to join such an energized and ambitious staff here in Vermilion County,” commented Bryant. “To be a part of something new and build something from the ground up is a thrill.”
Bryant comes to the Bobcats from the Danbury Hat Tricks organization, broadcasting games and managing social media for teams under the Hat Tricks name in the Federal Prospects Hockey League, North American Hockey League and NA3HL. He earned FPHL Broadcaster of the Year honors in 2019-20, the team’s first year of operation, and helped build the Hat Tricks into the fastest-growing social media presence in the FPHL.
“To join another expansion team is a bit ironic,” Bryant laughed. “But it’s always fun to start with a completely clean slate. It helps that Danville and Vermilion County have such a rich hockey history and a passionate fanbase.”
Prior to joining the Hat Tricks, Bryant worked in the On-Air Promotions department at MSG Networks in New York City. He graduated from Marist College in 2017 with a degree in sports communications.
Live games for the Vermilion County Bobcats’ inaugural season will be housed on HockeyTV, a streaming service that provides coverage for all SPHL teams.
